You will need to make sure you carry out this job when it’s completely dry and has been for a little while. Bricks absorb moisture which can lead to flaking and blistering. A good rule of thumb is to allow 1 week of drying for each 5mm thickness of wet material, usually, 4-6 weeks will be sufficient.
