What material is best for your driveway?

The first thing that you tread on when entering your property is the entrance driveway, that’s why choosing a stylish and elegant design is so important at creating the finished look for your homes exterior. There are many different materials to choose from when it comes to your driveway, these include gravel, tarmac, concrete or block paving.

Concrete is a popular option for home owners due to its durability and low maintenance, however, it can begin to crack over time and become slightly unattractive. For a more modern twist, choosing tarmac is an option that also is durable, however this material can be known to sink or get unsightly pot holes in poor weather conditions.

For a cheap alternative, gravel is a favourite. With the option to select a colour or size of stone, you can really make your driveway attractive. You do need to prepare the ground before laying the stones to prevent any weeds growing through.

Block paving is probably one of the most expensive options, but can certainly make for an attractive driveway. The laying of the paving can be a timely process and if it is not done correctly, it can sink or have weeds come through the edges.
